The Skara Brae Replica Artefact Handling Boxes

This resource was commissioned by Historic Scotland who supplied the replica artefacts.
The resource provided teaching ideas for:
setting the scene/historical background of Skara Brae, examination and discussion of photographs, close examination of the artefacts, questioning activities, art/craft and drama activities.
The resource boxes included:
replica artefacts with information cards, Users Guide (with lesson plans and worksheets), photographs, books, poster, drama scenario cards, art and craft ideas,
wooden jigsaws (commissioned by the Partnership), a bag containing a deer skin.
The Educational Resource Partnership:
produced the Users Guide wrote lesson plans and worksheets, designed covers and labels for the boxes, sourced relevant materials and assembled boxes into a finished product for the customer. Each resource was piloted in schools before delivery.
