The Spey Riverbank and Dee Riverbank Resource Boxes provide teaching ideas for History and Culture, Landscape and River systems, Natural History and Biodiversity.  Science experiments, art, craft, drama and wildlife project activities and games were all included.
The Spey Riverbanks were commissioned by Scottish Natural Heritage, and the Dee Riverbanks followed, commissioned by Scottish Water as part of the 3 Dee Vision Project.
The Riverbanks contain a Users’ Guide (with lesson plans and relevant worksheets), maps, history material,  photographs, posters, artefacts, CDs, books and teaching packs, information pouches and a bag of river dipping equipment with bound waterproof sets of identification guides, and a bag of river pebbles for investigating the rock cycle.
Over 100 teachers and rangers participated in workshops for the resource.
