The Green Machine –



A travelling exhibition focusing on Climate Change, threats to biodiversity and a more sustainable use of resources.
Commissioned by Scottish Natural Heritage as part of the Highland Year of Culture 2007, the Green Machine can be booked for a visit by Primary and Secondary Schools and also tours outdoor events throughout Scotland.
The Green Machine provides teaching ideas to:
inform and challenge adults and young people to consider:
- Climate Change,
- Threats to biodiversity in Scotland
- A more sustainable use of resources
Working with design company Studio MB in Edinburgh,
The Educational Resource Partnership:
- researched and wrote the text and provided the ideas for the interactive displays
- designed and wrote a pre and post visit education pack for use by visiting school groups.
- trained teachers on the use of the Green Machine
- manned the exhibition at outdoor events
Timescale:
The Green Machine began touring Scotland after its launch by The Environment Minister at the Black Isle Show, Inverness in August 2007.
