About Us

Liz Balharry

Liz has a scientific background and a keen interest in the natural world. She has worked abroad on coral reefs and in rainforests, and at home in marine, freshwater and forest environments. Liz has an honours zoology degree, a research MSc. and a BSc. in Secondary Education.
Self-employed for 14 years, she has mixed practical conservation research with developing new and exciting ways to engage young people with science and nature.

Pat Thornton

From a business background, Pat moved to primary school teaching and taught in the Highlands for 14 years. Enjoying the creativity and cross-curricular teaching opportunities offered by outdoor education, her classes won 3 National Awards from the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) for environmental project work and she went on to present CPD training for WWF on Environmental Issues & Sustainable Development. Pat’s classes have also had great fun piloting resources for ERP!
